I created this painting for my Photography class. We needed to recreate an existing film poster in Drew Struzan's painterly style, using a reference photograph as a base.
I started with a black-and-white photograph of a classmate and painted layers over it in Photoshop. It was challenging to get a realistic effect and required a lot of layers of artwork to get the photograph and painting to mesh together.
